Darren Huckerby is another English Star who decided to retire in American MLS. 32 year old striker Darren Huckerby, who has played in Coventry and Manchester City signed with San Jose Earthquakes for 3 years on July 2007.

Beşiktaşs' Double = Mustafa Denizli

Turkey's third biggest club Beşiktaş won the League Cup and The Fortis Cup this year and left no other cups to the other big clubs like Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

The biggest pie on Beşiktaş's glories this season is of course their new manager, the old wolf Mustafa Denizli's. His unique tactical understandings and his approachment to the foreign players led them to the double. Turkish Coach, Mustafa Denizli taught Turkish people that teams do not need a German Coach to discipline the team. Even though Mustafa Denizli coached Galatasaray and Fenerbahce before, they gave great disappointment to their fans by finishing 4th and 5th this season. It has been a long time since a team has made double in Turkey. It was last made by Galatasaray in the 1999/2000 season.

In my opinion, all I can say about this season is that , season 2008/2009 was a great loss for the bigger clubs Galatasaray and Fenerbahce and was a really great season for Mustafa Denizli's Beşiktaş because of their double.

Bosnich is Back at Austraila

Australia National Team's former goalkeeper Mark Bosnich is back. Nowadays the goalkeeper which has played in Manchester United and Chelsea is 36 years old. He got back into the Australian Football, to 'League A' by signing a short contract with the Central Coast Mariners team in the last autumn. Mariners 1st goalkeeper Danny Vukovic has attacked to the refree and got a season ban. Therefore Mark Bosnich found a great chance to play as the first goalkeeper and he using this chance very well.

"I am so happy that a player like him is back at football." said Mark Bosnich's former teammate, Chelsea FC's superstar Frank Lampard.

Uzbeks Eto'o Dream Didn't Take Long

It has improved as it's expected and FC BARCELONA's striker Samuel Etoo stayed in Catalonia and did't sign with the Uzbekistan champion Kuruvchi. Everybody was fooled by the news by the Middle East Medias' clarification because they said that Etoo has signed with FC Kuruvchi. Nobody knows why the Cameroonian player Samuel Eto'o has gone to Uzbekistan and showed himself and stayed in FC Barcelona but it has really made a great disappointment on Uzbekistan Fans.

Where is the Money ?

Galatasaray Board insists to not to pay the wages of the foreign players on the squad.

Even though the Galatasaray Board chairmen Adnan Polat declared that there is no such thing like that, in the latest press conference he confessed that they were unalbe to pay them but they will pay the wages of the foreign stars as soon as possible.

Australian super-star Harry Harold Kewell and Czech Republican striker Milan Baros declared that they haven't been getting their sallary for 6 months but it is the love of Galatasaray that kept them quiet for not to object.

Executive board member of Galatasaray who is responsible for the soccer players, Haldun Ustunel, said " There is crisis everywhere, it is very normal to delay the sallaries of the players."

My opinion is that it is very rude to delay the players sallaries. People who are playing for the biggest club in Turkey, should be paid weekly and every post-match. Think that this news were published in an foreign newspaper or on an internet site. What they think about Galatasaray would be very different fron outside. Especialy the players like Harry Kewell and Milan Baros whom are known in every part of Europe and world. It would be very difficult to clear these dirty news overseas and change the foreign readers thoughts about Turkey and Galatasaray.

Aragones in the firing line

Eurp cup winner Spains coach and current Fenerbahce coach Luis Aragones is in the lion's mouth due to his lack of tactics and unsuccesful results. Last weeks home defeat just might be the end for the gaffer.

Fenerbahce attaint Turkey with their awful results in European Chapmpions League. And returned home with no glory. That really ambarressed fans and Fenerbace an objection of derision. Also Spaniard stirker Daniel Guiza which is also transferred with Luis Aragones couldn't even score a goal in last 2 months.

Aragones was transferred with big hopes confessed Fenerbahce chairmen Aziz Yıldırım. Indicating his abortive results.

Now, Fenerbahce isn't winning a game for 5 games. Also they were defeated in 3 games. The fans blame Luis Aragones and Fenerbahce board for the unsuccesful results.

"The board doesn't want to leave to club so they're planning to sack Luis Aragones" wrote the famous newspaper Fanatik.

My opinion is that Aragones shouldn't leave Fenerbahce and continue his abortive results. Because that is what will make the away teams happy.

An Extraordinary Warning from the Chairmen

Napoli FC 's President Aurelio De Laurentiis is very anxious to have their star players Ezequiel Lavezzi and Marek Hamsik snatched to the leading English clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City. He warned these star players in a very uncommon way.

" If they really want to go to England, then they should better know that English people live poor, eat bad food and women don't take a bath. It would be a pity for them."

De Laurentiis was planning to confuse his players with his words. And it worked, because while I was writing these lines, Lavezzi and Hamsik were still in Napoli.

" There is No Need for a "PLAN B" "

FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) boss Sepp Blatter, clarifies that South Africa will be hosting the World Cup games in 2010. Even though at the beginning of the 2007, Sepp Blatter uttered that if South Africa does not meet their responsibilities, the FIFA are going to be ready for a "PLAN B" , months later he announced that there is no need for any other plan.

"If there are still any people who suspect about where the 2010 FIFA World Cup is going to be held, I can say that it will definitely be in South Africa." Announced the FIFA boss Sepp Blatter in his declaration to BBC.

Nihat Kahveci in Top 100

One of the Turkey's most talented soccer player Nihat Kahveci is listed as the 39th best player of the World in 2008 by the famous soccer magazine FourFourTwo.

While Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentinian talent Lionel Messi topped the list, there was only one Turk included in the Top 100 list.

Beşiktaş's former striker and currently Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA)Villareal CF's forward Nihat Kahveci ranked 39th on FourFourTwo's Top 100 Best Footballers list. The Turkish international's two late goals against the Czech Republic turned Turkey's National team fate 180 degrees around in last summer's Euro 2008.

I think Nihat earned a highly deserved spot on the Top 100 Best Footballers list thanks to his consistent successful performance in La Liga (Spanish 1st Division) and ranked above world stars..
